In the space of less than a year The Magic Hands have gone from bedrooms to big stages, giving the audiences something to talk about. And talk they do, the band has quickly established themselves as being one of the most exciting up-and-coming acts in Australia.
Chosen as the supports for Midnight Juggernauts, Cut Off Your Hands and Grafton Primary, there is no doubt something undeniably attractive about them.
In their sound The Magic Hands have drawn together the mystique and imagery of Klaxons with the edginess of Bowie, the driving power of INXS with the frivolity of Duran Duran.
In late 2008, MTV selected The Magic Hands as one of the top five unsigned bands in NSW through the Kickstart competition.

FASTER LOUDER review of THE MAGIC HANDS supporting Midnight Juggernauts + Grafton Primary
"The show started with Canberra’s own The Magic Hands who are the newest addition to the ever popular indie electro rock scene in Australia. The band comprises of five young lads from Canberra, Tim Dyer (Vocals), Matt Keeley (Lead), Andrew Long (Keys and Vocal), Tom Smith (Bass) and Frank Aloe (Drums), who are clearly influenced by London based ‘nu-rave’ sensations the Klaxons. This was the perfect forum for the guys to show off their unique fusion of melodic pop harmonies, enveloping synth and funky drum and bass combos. They are definitely a band to watch out for over the coming year."
